She goes through each station. She opens the booth, stands inside, notes the response time of the panel. Adequate. The light calibrates correctly. She marks it on the form.
At the far end of the building there is a window. Not in the original design. The previous tenant left it. She was going to have it covered.
She stops at it.
Outside: a slope of hill, going down and then rising again. Trees at the far edge. A road somewhere behind them that isn’t visible.
She stands there. The fourteen seconds passes. She is in the next one before she has formed a thought.
